Hippocratic AI Hires Executives to Drive Expansion into New Market Sectors and International Markets

PALO ALTO, Calif.- March 27, 2025 — Hippocratic AI, the company that pioneered the first safety-focused generative AI healthcare agents for patient-facing non-diagnostic clinical tasks, today announced the addition of Chris Fang, MD, Hollie Vugrinovich, Jonathan Gainor, W.B. “Mitch” Mitchell, Brij Aswani, Chitra Laxmanan, and Eric Seastedt to its executive leadership team. These leaders will accelerate the company’s growth into new market segments and international regions, advancing Hippocratic AI’s mission to deliver global healthcare abundance and improved patient outcomes.

These hires follow the company’s successful $141 million Series B financing round and the overwhelmingly positive response to its generative AI healthcare agents. The company recently unveiled Polaris 3.0, its safest and most advanced constellation architecture yet, incorporating extensive real-world insights gathered directly from patients and healthcare providers. With more than 1.85 million patient calls and 25+ healthcare enterprise partners, Polaris 3.0 has set a new standard in patient safety and satisfaction, achieving a clinical accuracy rate of 99.38% and a new high patient rating of 8.95/10.

The executives leading Hippocratic AI’s healthcare sector and international expansion efforts are:
Chris Fang, MD, Chief Commercial Officer for the Pharma, Life Sciences and International Markets

Chris Fang’s roles are to establish Hippocratic AI as a leader in AI-powered patient engagement and clinical trials by integrating AI agents into existing workflows and operations of Pharma/Life Sciences companies and to expand its customer base internationally to bridge the healthcare workforce gap and support global public health. He joined Hippocratic AI from Sidekick Health, a digital health and therapeutics company, where he was the President of Pharma and Chief Medical Officer. Before that, he held executive positions at Eli Lilly, IQVIA, Acer, and Johnson & Johnson, among others. He has an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MD from Cornell University, an M.H. Sc in Public Health from Johns Hopkins, and a BA from UCLA. “I joined Hippocratic AI because I see a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform patient engagement in pharma and life sciences. Hollie Vugrinovich, Chief Growth Officer for the Provider Sector
Hollie Vugrinovich will oversee partnerships and drive growth in health systems and integrated delivery networks, focusing on enhancing the quality of care by expanding our partners’ capabilities to better serve their communities. “AI is already transforming healthcare, and its potential to safely and meaningfully support clinical outcomes is unparalleled,” said Hollie Vugrinovich. “I’m thrilled to join Hippocratic AI to amplify our impact and address healthcare scarcity, driving us toward an era of abundance.” Hollie brings extensive experience in healthcare technology transformation, most recently scaling impact at Notable, an AI-powered automation company serving healthcare organizations and payors. Previously, she led domestic and international business units for the Advisory Board (acquired by Optum/UHG) and CEB, Inc. (acquired by Gartner). Hollie holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in French Language and Literature from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jonathan Gainor, Chief Commercial Officer for the Payor Sector
Jonathan Gainor’s role is to shape payors’ AI strategies to help their members get better access to care and the quality of services they need using GenAI agents. He joined Hippocratic AI from Garner Health, a healthcare data science company. Before that, he held executive positions at Lyra Health and United Health Group, among others. He has an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BA from Brigham Young University. “I joined Hippocratic AI because I believe Generative AI will transform healthcare in ways we are only beginning to imagine,” said Jonathan Gainor. “The potential to revolutionize the industry by making care more accessible, efficient, and personalized is incredibly exciting. W.B. “Mitch” Mitchell, Chief Growth Officer for the Government Sector
Mitch Mitchell’s role is to position Hippocratic AI with federal, state, and local government agencies and departments to achieve their healthcare delivery mission objectives and support a broad spectrum of new use cases. Additional efforts will include strategic alignment with established government contractors, system integrators, and partners that will incorporate Hippocratic AI solutions into new and existing programs to serve as a force multiplier for government stakeholders to deliver comprehensive care and value for patients and care teams. He joined Hippocratic AI from Amwell, a leading digital hybrid care platform provider and the foundational technology partner for the Defense Health Agency’s Digital First Transformation, where he was Group Vice President of Government Solutions. Before that, he held executive positions at Ciox Health (now Datavant) and McKesson/Change Healthcare, among others. Brij Aswani, Vice President of Sales for the Ambulatory Care Sector
Brij Aswani leads Hippocratic AI’s growth and adoption initiatives across the ambulatory care sector, encompassing primary care, urgent care, surgical specialties, and medical specialties. He will also drive strategic expansion into eyecare management service organizations (MSOs) and other private equity-backed specialty practices. Brij joins Hippocratic AI from MD Clarity, a healthcare payments transformation company, where he served as Vice President of Sales. Previously, he held executive leadership positions at ModMed, Pavilion, and Thomson Reuters. Brij earned his MBA from New York University and a BS from Stevens Institute of Technology. “I joined Hippocratic AI because its innovative technology empowers ambulatory organizations to significantly expand their capabilities,” said Brij Aswani. “My aim is to help ambulatory practices reimagine what’s possible, driving efficiency, enhancing patient care, and ultimately contributing to healthcare abundance.”
Chitra Laxmanan, Vice President and General Manager for the Payor Sector
Chitra Laxmanan’s role is to manage payor relationships, overseeing the deployment and scaling of Hippocratic AI’s solutions to improve payor efficiency, care management, clinical quality, and member experience. She joined Hippocratic AI from Blue Shield of California, where she led its product strategy and management organization. Before that, she held various strategy leadership roles at CVS Health. She has an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas and a BS from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. “I have worked in healthcare for the past 10 years and have seen from inside healthcare entities the opportunity to improve the system and the impact it can have for people who need care, said Chitra Laxmanan. Eric Seastedt, Vice President for International Emerging Markets
Eric Seastedt joins as Vice President of International Emerging Markets, bringing over 25 years of global leadership experience. A recognized expert in international expansion and globalization strategy, Eric has successfully managed operations in 46 countries across six continents with a strong history of driving revenue growth, enhancing brand equity, and delivering measurable outcomes in healthcare, technology, and various sectors. He joins Hippocratic AI from Population Services International, where he was Regional Director for Asia. Eric excels at creating cross-sector partnerships that unite corporations, governments, and NGOs to address complex global challenges. Fluent in multiple languages and culturally adept, he leverages a broad international network to navigate diverse markets effectively.
