The Challenge

OhioHealth partnered with Hippocratic AI to use generative AI healthcare agent in pre-charting Medicare Wellness Visits (MWVs), traditionally handled by the Patient Advice and Care Team (PACT). The pilot evaluated whether the AI could match or exceed the effectiveness of PACT Outreach Coordinators in pre-visit documentation, reduce provider charting burden, and enhance the patient experience.

Objective

  • Complete MWV pre-charting with the same thoroughness and accuracy as human PACT Outreach Coordinators.
  • Reduce time spent by PACT and providers in gathering information ahead of MWV appointments.
  • Increase patient outreach efficiency and MWV pre-charting completion rates.
  • Improve the quality and consistency of documentation before primary care visits.
